The city of Riga through my eyes
Riga is the capital of Latvia and is home to 627,487 inhabitants The city lies on the Gulf of Riga at the mouth of the Daugava river where it meets the Baltic Sea. Riga was established in 1201 by Bishop Albert, and was granted city status in 1225.In 1282 it became a member of the Hanseatic League, strengthening its position as an important trading city in the region. Over the centuries, the city has developed into a major trading point in the area , and later played a significant role to the industrial revolution.
I had the pleasure of visiting this awesome city in April 2018 and my stay there can only be described as awesome. Therefore this will be a two part project. The first part will be ''The city of Riga through my eyes'' and the second will be a tribute to its beautiful people titled '' The amazing Latvians''. Don't get me wrong , by no means I claim to be some kind of an expert to either the area or its people.....As always I am the eye of the beholder, a street photographer who's trying to convey what I saw in the best way possible. My task will be to let you get a glimpse into this amazing city and its people in just twenty photos altogether .
